Two industrial glass pendant lights installed over a kitchen bench, lit in the evening

The sparky whocleans up after himself.

Luke Gaskett runs Gaskett Electrical Services out of Kinglake West. Boards, lighting, renovations, shed power and the odd fault nobody else could find. Small enough that you get the bloke who quoted the job, and he's the one who turns up to do it.

01 / Recent work

Photos Luke took himself, on jobs he actually did.

Nothing here is a stock photo. It's his own camera roll, which is the only kind of portfolio a sparky really has.

Renovation fit off

Fans, track lighting and pendants through a house mid renovation.

Kitchen, finished

Lighting and appliance circuits done, tools packed, floor left clean.

Rebuilt switchboard with RCBO banks, dressed wiring and a solar array warning label

Board rebuild

RCBO banks, dressed looms, and the solar array label where it belongs.

02 / What Luke does

Most of it is the everyday stuff, done properly.

There's no list of twenty specialities here. It's a one man electrical business doing the work that keeps coming up around Kinglake West, and doing it neatly enough that people mention it in their reviews.

01

Switchboard upgrades

Old fuse boards swapped for a proper RCBO board, looms dressed and labelled, and the solar warning signage done properly where there's an array on the roof.

02

Lighting

Downlights right through a house, pendants over the kitchen bench, track lighting through a renovation. If you've got a light in mind, it's the sort of job that fills most of Luke's week.

03

Renovation and new work

Power, lighting and data roughed in and fitted off as a build goes up. Ceiling fans, split system power points, extra outlets where the old plan never put one.

04

Shed and underground power

Trenching and conduit out to sheds, workshops and outbuildings, with marker tape over the top so the next person digging knows what's down there.

05

Fault finding and repairs

Perished cable at a light point, a circuit that keeps dropping out, something that got hot and shouldn't have. Found, explained, and made safe.

06

Commercial sites

Bigger jobs too. Conduit banks, outdoor switchboards and multi core runs on working commercial sites, done around the business staying open.

A service station mid rebuild with banks of orange conduit, a new outdoor switchboard cabinet and multi core cable runs

Commercial

Conduit banks and a new outdoor board going in at a working service station. Bigger sites get the same treatment as a kitchen rewire, just more of it.

03 / On the tools

The parts of a job you never see once the plaster goes back.

04 / About

One bloke, one orange shirt, since 2020.

Luke Gaskett started Gaskett Electrical Services in 2020 and runs it out of Kinglake West. It's not a big outfit and it isn't trying to be. You call the number, you get Luke.

That's why the reviews keep landing on the same two things: he turns up when he said he would, and he explains what he found before he fixes it. One customer wrote that the downlights went in right through the house without a single mark left on the ceiling, which tells you more about how he works than any slogan would.

The work runs from a light fitting in a hallway to a switchboard rebuild, a trench out to a shed, or a full renovation fit off. If you're not sure whether it's his sort of job, ring and ask. He'll tell you straight.

Luke cleanly installed downlights throughout our home at a very fair price with no marks or scrubs left on the ceiling

I recently hired Gaskett Electrical Services to install a dedicated pool circuit, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the work. They clearly knew what they were doing, making sure the setup was safe, up to code, and ready for the demands of the pool equipment. The installation was done neatly, and they took the time to explain the work and answer any questions I had. I'd highly recommend them to anyone needing quality electrical work done right at a fair price.
